Barry Alvarez retired as head coach from the Wisconsin Badgers in 2005, yes, it's already been 7 years! Barry's hand-picked successor, Bret Bielema left abruptly after 7 years at the University of Wisconsin for the head coaching job at Arkansas Razorbacks. When teams make it to a BCS game and their coaches are hired for a different job, usually that coach sticks around to coach that game, however Bret isn't isn't coaching the Badgers in the Rose Bowl. Who steps up to the plate? Athletic Director Barry Alvarez.. Barry has remained a huge part of the Wisconsin Badgers as he has been their Athletic Director, so he has a significant interest in the outcome of the 2013 Rose Bowl. What is interesting about Alvarez coaching the Rose Bowl is the players for the Wisconsin Badgers convinced Barry to coach them for the BCS game, Alvarez is 3-0 in Rose Bowls. So maybe, just maybe college football has a little bit of loyalty left, or at least at the University of Wisconsin. 

The 2013 Rose Bowl pits the Stanford Cardinal vs Wisconsin Badgers which is guaranteed to be an exciting match-up. The Stanford Cardinal comes off a PAC-12 conference title when they beat the UCLA Bruins in the PAC-12 conference championship game. The Wisconsin Badgers earned their spot to the Rose Bowl by crushing Nebraska Cornhuskers 70-31 in the Big 10 conference game.

Well after 14 weeks of the college football season, the BCS bowl games are set.

We got a match-up correct, but they're in the Fiesta bowl instead of the BCS National Championship game.
